Thanks to modern technology and many orthodontic improvements, conventional metal braces or clear ceramic braces are more comfortable and affordable than ever before. Fort Loramie Dental Center offers a wide selection of orthodontic treatments to accommodate the different wants and needs of our Fort Loramie, OH patients. Conventional braces offer fun customizations while clear ceramic braces are less noticeable. A number of our patients favor metal braces as it helps them to show off their personality by selecting colored bands. Ceramic braces are similar to conventional metal braces, but other people will have difficulty noticing them because they are clear! Every smooth bracket is constructed from a translucent material to blend with your teeth. To find out more about traditional metal braces and clear ceramic braces, schedule an appointment with Dr. Christopher Ashby at our office in Fort Loramie, OH.

Following your initial consultation, an individualized treatment program will be created by Dr. Ashby for your specific case. When you return to get your braces, your teeth will be thoroughly prepped and cleaned before applying your brackets. Once we have applied the bonding agent to your teeth, the brackets will be placed. Once all of the braces are on, Dr. Ashby will thread the archwire through them. The application process usually moves pretty fast, and patients often experience no discomfort. You should expect to return to our office approximately once a month to get adjustments and progress exams.

About Us
How do I choose between metal braces and clear ceramic braces?

The choice between metal and clear ceramic braces depends on your orthodontic needs and personal preferences. Metal braces are durable and ideal for complex cases, with the option for colorful bands. Clear ceramic braces are less visible, blending with the teeth for a more discreet appearance. Dr. Ashby can guide you through the decision based on your lifestyle, aesthetic concerns, and dental requirements.

What should I do if a bracket breaks or a wire comes loose?

If you experience a broken bracket or loose wire, contact Fort Loramie Dental Center immediately. Until your appointment, you can use sterile tweezers to reposition a bracket or orthodontic wax to cover any protruding wires. Avoid cutting the wire to prevent injury. Dr. Ashby will provide instructions for care and promptly address any issues during your visit.
